Carboniferous wood/plant fossil ID please

I found this in Ossett West Yorkshire,  UK and it comes from the carboniferous, clay, which preserves fossils amazingly.  I have only ever found 4 pieces of fossil wood in it, and all of them have been amazingly well preserved.

I found this piece yesterday.  It took over 10 minutes to get the first piece out, and then when I dug that piece out I found another right next to it.

Any idea what species it is and is it plant or wood?
