Hi, could anyone maybe shed some light on this small bug I keep finding in my flat...
It is very small, could almost be mistaken for a crumb, and usually found on fabrics but has been found on all surfaces. For example I commonly come across one on my couch throw, shower mat or towels that are sitting around (such as on the kitchen worktop).
I am not really worried about it but I do come across them quite frequently so would like to know what it is, if anyone has any idea? I am in the north of Scotland.
This is my first time trying to post so I apologise if the pictures aren't visible. If they're not, could someone advise how to correct this. Thanks.
It's a spider beetle (Ptinidae). I can't narrow the ID down further although it may be a Ptinus species. You probably should investigate yourself (what they are feeding on; what species is it) as many of them are household pests.
