Spider ID in Mendip area

Hi all,

We've had some new spiders move in and I'd like to get them identified as there are quite a few of them and we have young inquisitive children.  I've attached some admittedly not great photos and one of what I'm guessing is an egg sack made out of web?  There are probably 10 of these along the back of the house and I had to evict one from the shower a couple of days ago.  I know absolutely nothing about spiders, so I'm thinking now is a good time to start filling this huge gap in my knowledge!

Your help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

These are Zygiella - very common in gardens and around houses everywhere in the UK. They build orb webs whereas false widows (in case that's what you were worried about) don't. Harmless.
