I was pulling foundation trenches in Suffolk and from around 1.5m down found the following fossil in very sandy clay. Quite an odd overall shape, stomach shape would be how I would describe it. As you can see on the "front" a main fossil shape, although to the "back" a ribbon/hour glass shape is noticable just above the 6 inches on the ruler. Is the whole piece a fossil or just a stone that ended up in that odd shape? Also if possible what are the names of the fossils within the piece?
