I.D. Please.

Hello all. Please can someone tell me what species this is. Thanks Peter

    It is a species of caddis fly.

     

    It is a shame we can't see the tip of the wing.

    Going on what we can see, it could be:

    - Glyphotaelius pellucidus (3 dark dots at the margin of the tip of the forewing)

    - Limnephilus lunatus (a pale half-moon towards the tip of the forewing, which we can see half of))

    - Limnephilus rhombicus (a vaguer pale half-moon)

     

    Of those, the first is not quite right in other ways.

    And of the other two, Limnephilus rhombicus looks the better fit.
