Is this a False Widow?

I found this spider recently at my villa in Spain. It repeatedly 'bit' me when i picked it up and left me in writhing agony for three days with a hand so swollen it looked like an Elephants foot. Any way it went down eventualy and I'm fine now apart from the odd twitch and constant dribbling. I'm sure it was one of those false widows. Here's the picture my wife took after hearing my screams and telling me not to be a baby.

    Hi Lewis,

I'm no expert but that looks more like a short haired, short legged, longtailed terrier...AKA the crocodile!

You had a close shave, a crocodile bite can leave you feeling quite queasy...or so I have heard! I don't think they are dangerous though...there certainly hasn't been anything in the papers to suggest as such?!

    :-) :-)

You're lucky. I twitch and dribble nowadays even without being bitten.
