I currently have tiny brown insects over the floors and walls of my house. They are very difficult to see with the naked eye as they blend in, however they do crawl if look very carefully.
I managed to take a picture with the camera and zoom in (please see below). They must be less than 1mm in size.
Was wondering if any one new what sort of insect/bugs these may be?
How do I get rid of them?
I think these are booklice (psocid) nymphs
There are some good images of nymph and adult here
(ignore the fact that the site concerns Indonesia)
As well as the overall shape and size, the darker nose and rear-end, as seen in your photo, support the booklice ID.
The second photo here shows that shading, too
Do a bit of research in that direction and see if it seems to fit
(you will be able to see your creatures better than I can in the photos).
If you agree they are booklice, have a read of this; it will answer your questions.
Hello, I also have an infestation of small bugs in my flat following a renovation.
There are two types of beetle like bug both of a similar size. One is a red colour with a hard shell and one is a grey colour with markings and seems to have less physical structure. They both are very small probably a maximum of 2mm long with some even smaller. There are more red ones than grey ones and we found approx 25 in the bathroom after being away for the weekend. They also like to congregate on the bedroom window cill. The red ones move slowly and the grey ones move much quicker.
Through looking online I think that they might be plaster beetles or book lice I'm not sure if they are the same species at different life stages or if they are different. I want to identify what they are to see if they are harmless as I have a young baby.
They are located around the bathroom generally and seem to appear out of know where overnight. In the sink and around the bath. They are more of a nuisance than anything so I want to identify them.
I recognise the beetle Adistemia watsoni (family Latridiidae).
