False widow?!!!

Hi,

I'm really starting to get concerned as I've all of a sudden had a flurry of spiders which look like skull markings on the back. I know if difficult to tell without actually looking at the spider but any thoughts would help, currently I have 4 spiders in a web outside my window and I live in manchester.

Thanks

    Hi Matt,

This is a missing sector orb weaver, almost certainly Zygiella x-notata. These are harmless spiders often found around & sometimes in homes, they especially like to live on widows.
