Restitution is correct, this is Leptoglossus occidentalis, the Western Conifer Seed bug. There have been good numbers of these observed over the last 3 years but this year seems a bit quiet. Where did you spot this one?
Would just like to add that I have found this species (he was quite a big lad) a couple of hours ago in my East Sussex garden. We have neighbours with conifers and lots of Scots pines in the woodland behind us. I did not know what he was until restitution came up with such a helpful site.
HI All, thanks so much for the possitive ID. At 25mm I assume my little lady is doing OK here in The Hague. ..needless to say though, she has been evicted from the bedroom... I have not seen any more, yet, definatly going to be looking.
