Identification on my spider infestation

These are different spiders I have around my flat inside and out I'm pretty sure their false widows but need confirmation?

Re: Identification on my spider infestation

    Hi Porscha_1992,

The spider in the web, near to the ceiling is a female false widow (Steatoda nobilis), she appears to be outside & out of harm's way. She is most likely to stay in her web.

The spider in the container is a male false widow, poor feller looks a little underfed, so difficult to tell exact species (S. nobilis or S. grossa). Put him outside, he'll probably die off in the not to distant future (mature males don't feed).

Given the recent press sensationalism, I suspect you're none to pleased in finding these individuals, but they really are much less of a nuisance than recent "reports" suggest.

Certainly remove any that you find indoors, but outdoors they just doing the same as millions of other spiders: disposing of flies & other nuisance bugs.

    Regards, Mark.
