False Widdows in Nottingham?

Hi,

I seem to have a few of what I think are False Widdows in and around my garden shed in Nottingham.  I think we are a little further north than other sightings so I thought I would as for your confirmation.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ahardwidge,

This is a Zygiella species, most likely Z. x-notata. Harmless and very common indeed around (& sometimes in) houses, sheds, cars. They are also known as missing sector orb weavers, a look at their web will explain why.

    Regards, Mark.
