False Widow Spider?

Hello,

We came across this in our kitchen last week, didn't think much of it at the time so left it there. We have since had our suspicions that it may be a False Widow spider and very much regretting leaving it in our kitchen. Please could someone verify if this indeed a False Widow, the spider has spots on it which makes me unsure what it is?

Many thanks,

Jack

    Hello there.

This looks to me to be a male Steatoda grossa. He's been in the wars a bit. Yes they are a 'False Widow' but not the unfairly infamous Steatoda noblis that our somewhat manipulative national press are currently banging on about. I've blown up and lightened your last photograph.
