Possible false black widow?

Hi,

My housemate found this spider on our west-facing external house wall about 2m off the gruound. Doing some basic research we though it could possibly be a flase black widow of some type but we just wanted to be sure. We have an external toilet that's home to many species of spider and we just wanted to know if a false widow might be among them. Also, if it isn't, that would definitely help our other, arachnophobic housemate sleep a little easier

Thanks 1374371_10151773574533710_1180676157_n.jpg

p.s. sorry about the bad quality!

This is the European garden spider, Araneus diadematus. They don't always know that they are supposed to live in gardens & can sometimes be found in & around homes.

    Regards, Mark.

I post my pics to an online hosting site (Photobucket) & paste a link to the photo, in the thread.

You may get a couple of links - one to the album, the otherto the photo, you can review & edit accordingly.
