ID spider!!?? False widow??!?

Is this a false widow??

    Hi Jodie,

     

    No, this is a harmles Zygiella species, Z. x-notata are often found indoors & around window frames. Also known as missing sector orb weavers.

    Nope - this is a Zygiella spp., probably Zygiella x-notata, The Missing Sector Orb Web spider. This is a very common spider around windows and doors and they often venture indoors as the weather turns colder.

      Just to clarify, almost all spiders have venom.However, in the UK and ireland, no spider has venom capable of harming Human beings.This includes the False widow spiders, which all Arachnologists agree pose no threat to Human beings.The only reason they are feared is because of recent media Hysteria, but there is really no point to it and the claims aren't factual at all.
