Is this a fossilised bone ?

I was walking through a ploughed fields footpath, when I spotted this, It looks like a bone but also feels and looks like it has set like stone.

I have seen plenty of cow bones etc in fields when fieldwalking, but nothing like this.

The area I found it is full of archeology, The famous cresswell crags is only six miles away, and it was a few fields away from a magnesium limestone ridge, aka the top of the ridge.

The field is full of whitish stone mixed in with the soil.

This was found not too far away from Scarcliffe near mansfield if it any help for you to get an idea of the geology of the area.

Thank you for any replies.

This looks like a calcaneus (heel or hock bone), of something large like a cow or a horse. Would it be possible for you to clean it up with a soft toothbrush and some water and take a photograph with the ruler from on top so that we can get a better idea of size and hopefully a species identification?
