I found this plant at an altitude of 1000 feet plus in the Lakeland mountains. It looks very much like a Venus fly trap but on researching it, it would appear that these are native to the sub-tropical areas of the Eastern US. Any ideas as to how it would be growing at that altitude and towards the end of September when it is getting cold up there?
Hi Mike thank you for reply but it was definitely no like any of those you mentioned. I have tried to enlarge it to make it perhaps a bit clearer. If you like it looked like a set of false teeth complete with palate and as I said was growing on the high fellside at around 1000 feet, there was only the one. Regards
