It is a Steatoda grossa, one of the false widows. It's a lot less dramatic if you call it by one of it's other popular names like "cupboard spider", or "comb footed spider" ;-)
I recently removed two from my own bedroom, on 2 consecutive nights...one of which promptly escaped and heaven knows where it is now. They are really quite shy, I only knew I had them after spotting wandering males a couple of times in the last 2 years, they are really quite common. That said, if I see any in the bedroom I do relocate them, bites aren't dangerous and are very rare, but I see no reason to tempt fate. I'm not bothered what they do in other rooms of the house though.
