Posting photos

Hi all

I am new to the forum and have enjoyed reading the many threads about fossils. Before I posted anything specific I have a question about posting photos - apologies if this  is in the wrong place but I could not see a general Q&A group.

I wondered if there is a way of attaching photos as links to hosting sites e.g. Photobucket as in other forums. This enables the pictures to be displayed in the post rather than having to open up each link individually which takes time and leaves a pop-up window rather out of context from the text. Alternatively can the thumbnails  be shown larger so the image can be seen before the attachment is opened?

Thanks

    Re: Posting photos

You're right - that sort of thing is not explained, as far as I can see.

You can insert images directly into posts this way:

    1. write some text

    2. where you want an image:

        a. click the camera icon (around the middle of the row of icons above where you are typing),

        b. WAIT for the dialog to appear (if you have a URL ready to paste, and you are too quick in doing so, it can end-up in the text of your posting by mistake)

        c. specify the image (it can be uploaded from your computer or it can be one that is already online, eg. in PhotoBucket)

         d. click the 'Inset image' button

    3. continue with your text.

You can add videos and links similarly.

I am sure there is no user-control whereby thumbnails may be displayed larger.

    Mike
