Jumper ID

Hello folks. I found this little Jumper yesterday. He carried his abdomen unusually high as he leapt about. Normally we only get two types in my house Salticus scenicus and Pseudophrys lanigera, but I'm not sure in this case. Overall legspan was abot 7mm.

Lewis.

    Hi Lewis,

I reckon that is a Salticus scenicus...just a rather bedraggled & hungry one?

    Regards, Mark.

    Hi Lewis,

Some S. scenicus do have a white bar/stripe behind the eyes, some are also more brown & white, than black & white, have a look at some of these shots from http://www.gardensafari.net/en_picpages/salticus_scenicus.htm

Note on the unknown specimen, the white/pale markings on the cephalothorax diverge towards the abdomen, whereas on P. lanigera it tapers?

    Regards, Mark.
