Hoverfly id?

photographed this hoverfly back in August in my Sheffield garden.

 

I think it is an Eristalis species because of the clear white bands but puzzled by the faint orange markings on each segment between those bands - I can't tie it in with anything specific - any help please?

    You are right: with that deep loop in the R4+5 wing vein, it must be one of the Eristalini. I think it's Eristalis pertinax. The front tarsi seem yellow, as do the hind tibiae.
