Spider ID please.

Does anyone know what kind of spider this is? It is in the shed/greenhouse and I'm wondering if it bites, and if it catches aphids, then it would be doing me a good deed! Any info would be good.

    Hi Shamic,

It's not going to be possible to give a firm ID from that pic, but from it's general "leggyness" most likely candidate is one of the Tegenaria (house spider) species. If it is Tegenaria, they can grow to a fair size & subsequently have good sized fangs, but are quite docile & not regarded as 'biters', a bite is pretty much painless & certainly harmless.
