could this be a false black widow

Please could you tell me if this is a false black widow,  it's been living in our shed, we also found one crawling in the garden 2 weeks prior, this one was all black

    Yes, this is Steatoda nobilis. Don't worry yourself too much, they are very common in the UK, often living in & around our homes. I have a resident female in my living room. They are really quite docile and prone to fleeing/hiding when confronted.


    Usually, females (like the one in your photo) make a web up high, near somewher to hide, and pretty much stay put if undisturbed.
