The below was found in Gloucestershire, South West England. It is reasonably heavy but makes a hollow sound when tapped. As you can see from the photographs it has very clear layers.
If someone could help us identify it that would be great. If you need any more info or photos please let me know.

I know what you mean, but if it is from Hock Cliff (as we now know) it can't be a mammoth tooth (max 5m yrs, versus 145m yrs for end-Jurassic).
You might need to send/take it to the NHM (but email them first)
