Is this a wasp?

I've photographed insects feeding on thistle flowers. One of them appears to be a wasp. Can anyone identify it further for me please?

It's a sawfly, possibly Tenthredo sp. Definitely one in the Tenthredinidae family (order Hymenoptera, just like proper wasps, ants and bees). Google for images of Tenthredo notha or T. brevicornis, and see if they match.
