I've photographed a day flying moth, feeding on field scabious, common knapweed and creeping thistle, nr Walkington in East Yorks today. It was locally common. I've attached some of the photos.
http://islaynaturalhistory.blogspot.co.uk/2010/08/macro-moths-and-micro-moths.html has a photo posted in August 2010 of the what looks to me like the same moth species. It's been identified on the link as Dark Fruit-tree Tortrix (Pandemis heparana) . Unfortunately, when I checked elsewhere online, this name is linked to a completely different moth. Help please!
It is Udea lutealis
The ID on the Islay website is wrong (I have advised them as such).
Thanks Mike. I've followed up your id on UK Moths website, where another photo and more info is available.
