I found this spider (see attached file) in my bathroom one morning, since then ive seen a few more here and there but smaller in comparison. I have never seen a spider like this till recently. Can anyone tell me what it is? Someone said it might be a male black widow.
There are False Widow spiders in the UK, could be one of those. I have seen a few about. Best to wait for an expert answer though!
I should mention that I live in Ontario in Canada. Black widows are not common around here but there has been a sighting or two in past years.
Ive sent the picture to even a prof at the university who knows alot about spiders and even he couldnt tell me what it was. Its baffling to me that people I have talked to have no idea as to what type of spider it is or if its venomous or not.
I think this is Steatoda triangulosa, which certainly occurs in North America.
