Found by a correspondent of mine in Iceland, 5th July 2012 near the Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula (near Keflavic) growing on virtually soil-less lava.
Any idea which saxifrage? And does it also occur somewhere, anywhere, in the UK?
It looks to be Saxifraga hypnoides judging by http://www.plant-identification.co.uk/skye/saxifragaceae/saxifraga-hypnoides.htm & http://www.iceland-nh.net/plants/data/Saxifraga-hypnoides/saxifraga_hypnoides.html
