Can anyone identify these please? Found in our house in the UK Midlands very recently (summer 2013). The small caterpillar-type thing I suspect is a juvenile!
They are chafers, a group of beetles; probably sumemr chafer, Amphimallon solstitiale
The larva: that's harder to tell; it looks a bit like that of a cinnabar moth, but there'd be no reason to see it in a house (it feeds on ragwort). More likely it is the larva of something that's been eating the chafers (but I don't know what).
