I found a dead insect in my college.
It has brown wings, little pincers, 4-6 legs, Black body, 3cm long and 2cm wide
Can anyone help,
It is a beetle.
Those papery bits at the back end are its wings, not properly folded and and stowed under its wing cases.
With a bit of pondering, we can probably give you a bit more detail, but how close an ID do you want? To species? If so, we'd need a good sharp close-up.
If I had to guess I'd say it's a lesser stag beetle, Dorcus parallelipipedus. Far from certain though.
