moth for id

Saw whis moth last week in London. It was about 2 cm long.

    Hi Weevil, Looks like what you have here is a Male Bee Moth, very interesting species the males and females are very different looking and of course spend larval time in bee and wasp nests.

     

    The colors in your photo are a bit different to what you'd expect but the markings are there, I suspect the lighting is hiding the colors.
