Please help identify beetles in my home

Over the past week I have noticed tiny dark brown beetles in my kitchen and bathroom which are on the ground floor of my house. I started noticing one of two per day but can now catch up to ten. I can't get a picture because they are so small (usually between 1.5 to 2.5 mm). They occasionally fly and their head is deprecate from their body. I am unsure how many legs they have but they do have antennas. I have check all of my cupboards but found none. They seem to prefer the floors, ceilings and walls. I would like to identify and get rid of these as soon as possible and any help or advise in doing this would be greatly appreciated.

It would really need a photo for an identification.

It may be a food pest, in which case check any bags of flour etc. in the kitchen.

They sound too numerous for furniture beetles, though they do appear around this time of year. Look for small round holes in wood furniture, skirting boards etc. But if you haven't noticed the beetles in previous years, it's unlikely I think.

Could they be coming in from outside?
