Moth ID

I have caught a number of these moths and would be grateful for comments on its ID.

Many thanks

Definitely some sort of pug moth.

    Possibly a common pug? http://www.hantsmoths.org.uk/species/1834.php

    Re: Moth ID

I had a look at this yesterday for a bit, and it is just not quite right for Common for me, but pugs are notoriously difficult to ID, even from looking at the individual.

For me, I think Freyer's Pug fits best markings wise, however although I get a few here, ours are generally not so grey and are a more tan coloration.  I can't tell you how many times I've done this with pugs here, give me a Lime Speck Pug any day of the week.
