Took a pic of this lovely lime green plant on the edge of a field the other day but can't seem to identify it! My shocking lack of appropriate botanical terminology probably doesn't help to narrow it down in a search! Please help!
There are similarities, however E. polychroma is perennial whereas E. helioscopia is annual.
I don't know which country you are in, but if it is the UK, E. helioscopia is much more likely in a field-edge setting. If you are in southern Europe or somewhere near a garden from which E. polychroma could have escaped, it could be either.
There are also other species it might be. They can be tricky to identify because they change character through the year, they can escpe from gardens and naturalize, and cultivars and hybrids vary from their species.
Note: E. polychroma is treated as a synonym for E. epithymoides by some authorities.
