I don't think this is a UK caterpillar, I'm happy to be proven wrong though! Did your flowers have a label saying where they were grown?

I think I just threw it away without even bothering :/ I have looked on every identification site but can't find anything that matches. Thank you anyway :) I will have a look on non uk websites
Looks like Helicoverpa armigera - known as the Scarce Bordered Straw in the UK. It is a widely distributed pest feeding on a very wide range of plants. It is a frequent import with commodities including flowers, tomatoes and cob corn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicoverpa_armigera
