I photographed the attached Ichneumon Wasp on Portland, Dorset recently. Can anyone help me to identify it, please? It seems to have very distinctive hind legs, which may be a clue to its identity.
It's a good photo, but sadly even experts in this group will not risk an ID. Ichneumonids are difficult with a specimen in hand, let alone from just one image. I say you leave it to family level.
