Inundated by these gnat things!

Hello there,  We have been inundated by these small black flies for the last 3-4 weeks.  I thought that they were fruit flies of one sort or another but now I'm not so sure as they do not seem to be interested in any fruit/vinegar traps and they never seem to bother with food waste bin in the kitchen. They are most prevelant on the uPVC windows, around the seals where there is some mould and frequent condensation. So is it perhaps the fungus gnat black fly? I need to know so that I can get an attractant lure to hopefully eradicate them from our home.  You will also see a white shouldered house moth (I believe) in one of the shots which took me an awfully long time to identify, almost 3 years, we thought that it was a clothes moth, we have lived with it that long and have become quite used to them but these flies are of greater concern.  I do hope someone here can help as I'm hoovering up dozens 3 times a day, morning, noon and tea time, from the windows!

    Hi

I was wondering if you ever found out about your flies? I have I think the same problem but nobody has answered my question either (Tiny fly identification) which I recently posted on  the same forum. Do let me know as they are driving me mad too!!

I would go with your guess and say these are fungus gnats. They also abound in the soil of potted plants and in the soil of my exotic pet tanks. I agree they are very annoying and pretty disgusting when they drown in window condensation and stick!
I had no idea about attractants for them. Good luck.

      Hello,

Sory, but I don't think an expert would be able to ID the flies from these photos. You can post specimens to us for a free ID:
