Please can you help me identify this insect. They arrived a couple of weeks ago in one room in our house. They appear to be coming from the gap between the skirting board and the wood flooring. There is no visible damage to any of the wood, they seem to be inactive during the day, but by the morning have made their way across the floor and some up the [painted] wall. On average there are about 30 new bugs appearing each day.
It would appear we have a serious problem. The wooden floor (modern tongue and groove) was laid by some helpful contractors over an existing parquet floor. My guess is these little blighters are coming from there, as there is visible damage to our wooden floor.
