Coleophora sp.

Another moth hard to identificate, I'm almost sure that the genus is Coleophora, but about the specie I can't talk.

Coleophora peribenanderi - similar

Coleophora trochilella - the color is much dark

Coleophora follicularis - similar

Coleophora striatipennella - similar

Coleophora galbulipennella - the white stripe don't fit with the subject.

All this species are available in the Nord Italy, there are a lot of other Colephora sp., so I think it's impossible to identificate the specie!

09.06.2013 - Northeast Italy (Padua)

Coleophora sp.

Coleophora sp.

Thanks for the help! Marcello

    Marcello,

I agree with your shortlist of species and your comments.

Yes, iit is impossible to make a reliable determination of the actual species without performing a genital examination (good genital photos on www.lepiforum.de).

I have a similar problem with Coleophora (and other genera) here in Cyprus.

    Mike
