One of my neighbors brought this round to me yesterday. The poor chap was in a bit of a state as he thought it was an exotic escapee. It is though perhaps, the largest Segestria florentina I have ever seen with an accurate body length of 32mm. She is obviously gravid but I wonder why she was out of her tube web and climbing a wall in broad daylight. Also this is the first one I have seen within a mile of my house. I just wonder if anyone knows of a larger specimen?
