Can anyone ID this caterpillar? Any help would be much appreciated!
I think it may be Aphelia paleana (Timothy tortrix).
Please compare your caterpillar with the various photos on the internet and/or in books, eg.:
(Bearing in mind that caterpillars change appearance as they progress through the various instars (stages of growth.))
You should also consider Aphelia viburnana (bilberry tortrix).
It is not quite the same, but you may also be able to rule it out based on location, habitat, and other criteria as explained in that web page.
Please post here to let us know which you decide is right.
Thanks Mike! It's definately Aphelia paleana.
