Tiny brownish red insect can anyone help?

Hiya new to the forum but had to see if anybody on here can tell me what these bugs are.  They are about 1mm across and when magnified are a reddish brownish colour.  They seem to enjoy each others company and group in large numbers round our summer house.  We only see them when the weather warms up.  The back of our garden where they can be found is surrounded by trees and we have seen them in the bark of a nearby ash tree.  We also find the odd one on the windowsills of the house if it is windy.  They appear then seem to enjoy the warmth of the summer house because they decide to move in there.  We find clusters of them under the eaves and around door frames and windows.  There are literally hundreds inside if you dont hoover quite regularly.  They are harmless little things that dont bite etc.  My husbands been covered in them when weve done any work at the back of the garden and has suffered no ill effects!   Any help anyone could give would be much appreciated.  Weve asked tree specialists and scoured the internet but can find nothing like them.  Thanks everyone
