Big Green Bug from Spain

Spain_July_11_314.JPG
Any ideas what this is? Or more correctly ... was.  I fished it out of our swimming pool whilst on vacation last week (August '11) in Southern Spain (Sierra Nevada area - hot, dry and mountainous) ... the body was about 5-6cm excluding the long pointy spike thing sticking out of the rear which was probably close on another 3cm

    I think this is possibly a Saddle-backed Bush Cricket   ( ephipigger ephipigger ) .

It's not in the genus Ephippiger, but in the genus Steropleurus. However I don't know what species happen in Sierra Nevada.
