Can anyone identify this fossil I found in Cyprus ?
I have a lot of photos of them in Facebook and I will appreciate it if you can comment/identify them.
Oyster, similar to Gryphaea.
Where in Cyprus did you find it?
Thanks, i found it at Latsia area, near Nicosia.
In that case, it could be Ostrea edulis, from the Pliocene Nicosia Formation.
(And I think some of your other fossils include barnacles of the genus Balanus. B. tintinnabulum has been suggested for the area, but I'm not sure that's right - see http://les-mondes-disparus.over-blog.com/article-19200421.html, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabalanus_tintinnabulum.)
