I found this bone several years ago on the shore of a lake. I am 98% sure it is from a cow, and 99.9% sure it is a vertibrae. My question is which vertibrae; Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, or coccygeal? The edges have been broken off in places, such as the spinous process. I'm doubtful it's T-spine, since the spot where the spinous procces was doesn't look like it has enough room to be elongated enough.
Can you add some photos of it with some kind of scale please? A ruler would be ideal but a large coin or a biro would do.Looks a bit like a vertebrae, but its hard to tell with there being some bits missing.Cheers!
This is the first cervical vertebra, sometimes called the Atlas.
