We found this bone on a beach on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, near Tampa Bay. We think it is a thoracic vertebra, but not sure what animal it comes from. Any ideas?
In the first inmage it looks like a bird's skull.
This is the vertebra of a fish, the swelling is on the lower portion and is called a Tilly bone or scientifically a hyperostosis.
