Who can help to identify this spider? These photos are taken in my garden in the Netherlands.
It's a Trochosa species, a type of wolf spider.T. ruricola and terricola are both common species in the UK, don't know about the Netherlands. It's not holding it's egg sac in the usual way though.
As to your remark about the way Trochosa is holding it's egg sac. I have another photo of this spider and I wonder if this is perhaps more representative way. What do you think?
Yes, that's more like the usual position for the egg sac.
