Hi every one , we have a visitor in our house !! It decided to dangle on
Single thread in our hallway and is now living in a wine glass for his and
Safety ... It has red legs and is approx 1 cm in size excluding legs... It seems
Quite aggressive as when you go near it raises its front legs (we do not prod
It ect)but this happens if we go anywhere near the glass... We would like to know
1. If its English
2. If its venomous
3. Where is the best place to release him
The pictures are of the actual spider
This is a male Steatoda noblis, our infamous 'False Widow'. There's loads of information about them on the NHM website. Just put him somwhere dry out in your garden.
Lewis has just beaten me to it by a minute or so - yes a male Steatoda nobilis. If you have them in your area the males do appear to be active in December.
