what type of bee is this

    It looks like what we used to call white tailed bumble bee when we were kids.

     

    I don't know if there are diffent kinds of white tailed bumble bees or what its scientific name might be cause I know very little about anything. lol

    some reading and googling lead me to think that it is one of two possiblles

     

    Bombus lucorum   or Bombus terristris

     

    my guess of these two would be the lucorum because it is described as having a bright lemon coloured yellow compared to terristris which is described as having a dirty or orangy yellow.  (but it is just a guess)

    I would go for B. terrestris - the tail isn't pure white and there is a brownish "coffee stain" between the black hair on the abdomen and the white of the tail
