I saw an interesting talk about beetles in the museum today. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about this beetle that landed on my car wash sponge last year in North Wales.
This is a leaf beetle (family Chrysomelidae). I don't know what species it is, but it looks close to Gastrophysa viridula. More photos of that species here.
This is most definitely a beetle of the family Chrysomelidae.
My guess would go to Gastrophysa viridula, but it is very hard to tell them apart from similar looking species such as Chrysolina graminis.
