Fossil sea anemone from SE London

I found this sea anemone half-buried in London clay and loam in Sydenham Hill Woods, in SE London. The question I have is, could the fossil be in it's native habitat, or is it an import?

On the one hand gravel was imported at different times for pathlaying. Could it have come in with that?

On the other, a rail line was cut through the hill (now disused) and there is a contemporary account which states that many fossils were found in the clay. It doesn't say what they were.

It seems to be from a chalk matrix and not the kind of thing usually associated with gravel.

Any suggestions? It would also be nice to date it if possible!

Thanks
